2018

SFC conducts an in-depth 9-month visioning process that results in a new mission, vision, and organizational structure.

2014

Public opening of the St. David's Foundation Community and the JP's Peace, Love and Happiness Teaching Garden.

2013

SFC moves into its new center in the heart of East Austin after a $4.5 million Capital Campaign.

2012

SFC offers the first SNAP incentive program in the state of Texas, matching food assistance benefits at SFC Farmers’ Markets.

2010

SFC takes over the farmers’ market at Sunset Valley in response to farmer and community need.

2003

Launch of Austin Farmers' Market in Republic Square (now called SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown)

2001

SFC merges with Austin Community Gardens to strengthen programs, integrate talents and consolidate administrations.

1999

SFC partners with Texas WIC to distribute Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers to WIC eligible moms.

1993

Sustainable Food Center (SFC) is founded.

1987

ACG becomes an independent non-profit organization.

1975

Austin Community Gardens (ACG) is founded as a project of the YWCA.
