Our annual, city-wide day of giving begins on March 2nd at 6:00 pm and ends the following day, March 3rd at the same time. Help us reach our goal of raising $25,000 by donating before the day is over!
Are you ready to Amplify Austin for your local food system?
This year, the Still Water Foundation is generously matching each gift, so your impact is doubled.
Sustainable Food Center is working to transform the food system for our health, land, and livelihood. We envision a world where small and mid-size farms thrive, and everyone in Central Texas can access healthy, local food.
Whether you realize it or not, you’re an important part of our local food system, and we need your help improving it.
Did you know that industrial agriculture dominates food production in the United States, produces a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions, and damages our environment? Did you know that 15% of people in Central Texas experience food insecurity?
We’re working to change that.
We provide technical and business training, support after events like the winter storm, access to weekly SFC Farmers’ Markets, supply chain matchmaking, and even scholarships to small and mid-sized farmers to help them achieve their business and agricultural goals.
We help families live healthier lives by doubling nutrition assistance benefits at the SFC farmers’ market and are working to expand this program throughout Texas.
We offer nutrition and cooking classes in areas that experience high rates of diet-related disease.
We connect low-income gardeners with resources to grow their own food at home so they can eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
But our work doesn’t stop there. We also advocate for local, state, and federal policies that support sustainable agriculture and family farmers and expand food access.
We’re working to transform the food system every step of the way, and that’s why we need your help.
