Founded almost 45 years ago with a primary goal to teach people to grow their own food, Sustainable Food Center has been able to do so much because of the support from people just like you.
To meet the growing needs of our local food system, in 2019 and beyond we’re pivoting to focus more upstream to deal with the systemic and policy issues surrounding farm viability and food access and education.
While the future will bring a shift in focus for our organization, throughout this year we have been working hard to bring Central Texas the direct services that make healthy, local food affordable and accessible to all.
Thanks to the support of our community, this year we were able to help 49 schools start school gardens, provide healthy cooking skills to 1350 people, increase access to local food at 21 locations throughout Austin, and so much more.
You can read our new Annual Report to learn more about the impact Sustainable Food Center made in our community this year.
Please also consider making a donation today to help us continue this vital work. Your gift will help us implement new programs that will work to support the preservation of farmland, increase production of sustainable food, and advocate for equitable policies that support small, sustainable farmers.
